Internet Connectivity

As DiaryBook is a web application it can only be accessed through the Internet. The speed of the Internet connection will affect the speed of the application. The recommended minimum requirement is a 1Mb broadband link.

Browser Support

DiaryBook supports all major web browsers including:

Recommended Browsers

We have tested DiaryBook on all major browsers and we recommend that for Windows to use Chrome or Firefox, and for Mac to use Safari. Other browsers work however

Users of Internet Explorer 6 or 7 could find the application runs slowly (depending on other factors too). We recommend upgrading if possible or installing Chrome.

Javascript and Cookies

The DiaryBook application depends upon a feature of all Internet browsers called Javascript. Briefly, Javascript is a language used to program browsers. It is possible to disable Javascript support on some browsers. This would prevent DiaryBook from working.

In addition DiaryBook uses cookies. These cookies are required for session control and access to DiaryBook. These cookies in no-way identify any DiaryBook user to any third party.

Screen Resolution

The best experience is with screen resolutions from 1024 X 768 pixels. Resolutions lower than this, particularly in the y-axis of 768 pixels, will not display all of the screens correctly and may even prevent the user from accessing key areas of the software.

The sign-in page will display a warning if it detects a resolution less than the recommended. It may be possible that the settings for the screen/computer showing the page can be increased to the minimum or more. Professional IT advice should be sought in that regard.
